ER alum Mekhi Phifer has joined Uzo Aduba, Aunjanue Ellis and ) Sanaa Lathan in The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat for Searchlight Pictures.
Tina Marbury is directing the film about three best friends known as “Supremacy” ”, the script was written by Gina Prince-Byswood and modified by Marbury. Phifer is currently starring in Apple’s Truth Be Told series with Octavia Spencer.
He is best known for playing Gregory Pratt on NBC’s ER and also starred in Clockers and Divergent franchises. His credits also include Hulu’s Love, Victor, A&E’s Roots, House of Lies, Torchwood and lied to me . He is the recipient of multiple NAACP awards.
Supreme Restaurant at Earle’s Restaurant is an adaptation of Edward Kelsey Moore’s novel, which, according to Searchlight, depicts best friends who “were through two generations of life storms together through marriage and children, happiness and blues, They found their way at the crossroads and tested their bonds.” 2013
Earl’s all-you-can-eat, which also stars Russell Hornsby, by Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen’s Temple Hill Entertainment. Searchlight production and development heads DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas are overseeing the studio, along with production director Zahra Phillips and creative executive Apolline Berty.
