MLB Network announced Wednesday that it will air the entire 2022 American League Division Series and American League Championship Series exclusively in Spanish this postseason. Two AL Division series are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 11, with a potential fifth game on Monday, October 17. The ALCS, presented by loanDepot, kicks off on Wednesday, October 19, with a potential seventh game scheduled for Wednesday, October 26. The announcers for the MLB Network’s Spanish-language ALDS and ALCS TV broadcasts will be released in the coming weeks.
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to make playoff baseball exclusively in Spanish, ” said Bill Morningstar, president of MLB Networks. “This broad-based program fits perfectly with MLB’s ongoing efforts to strengthen and expand its relationship with Latino baseball teams and sports fans. We will produce these games with the heart, passion and quality that audiences have seen over the years. Looking forward to it.”
MLB Network produced a Spanish-exclusive in 2016 Language ALDS telecast. In addition to the Spanish-language ALDS and ALCS gaming telecasts on MLB Network, authenticated live streams will be available anywhere in the United States to customers of participating pay TV providers via MLBNetwork.com/Watch. TBS will be the exclusive home to the 2022 AL Division Series and AL Championship English Series. The 2022 playoff schedule is subject to change, starting Friday, October 7, and can be viewed in full at MLB.com/postseason.
In addition to MLB Network’s ALDS and ALCS Spanish productions, MLB Network More than 200 hours of studio content will also be broadcast this postseason. The multi-Emmy-winning MLB Tonight will broadcast live before and after each postseason game, with press conferences covering each postseason series live. The MLB Network will broadcast extensive live coverage of the World Series scheduled to begin on Friday, October 28.
