BREAKING: Sources tell ESPN that right-handed Luis Castillo and the Seattle Mariners will share a deal A five-year, $108 million contract extension was reached. A sixth-year vesting option could bring it to $133 million.
M got Castillo at the trade deadline and now locks him for five years.
Mariners from the Cincinnati Reds in a July 29 trade. The 29-year-old is 3-2 in nine of the M’s nine games with a 2.83 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 64 strikeouts.
