Film director Ryō Nakajima’s motion capture studio Ains announced Wednesday that it is producing Chibiham, Juicy & Me , whose first feature-length animation will be screened in September at the Tollywood Theater in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo 30 to30. The animation centers on Chibiham, a chubby American who travels to Japan because her friends are drawn to her antics.
Riki Ohkanda, an American who has lived in Japan for 20 years, is directing animation, with Nakajima as producer and producer CG director. Aiko Matsushita and Reiko Honjo wrote the script. Katsuyuki Iwasaki designed the characters. Yutaka Fukuda and Wataru Yokoi (Sanpo Yokoi) are 3D modelers. Hiroki Itō is credited for recording. Kyoto Connection is composing. Studio Ains made the film using optical motion capture technology also used in video games.
The cast includes Jennifer Lloyd as Chibiham, Shayna as Paprika, Mika Hijii as Juicy, Noa Iwasawa as Delmo, Hiroshi Ōyama as Kintama, and Akiko Iwase as Juicy’s mother.
