Yesterday, Motorola unveiled its next generation foldable phone – the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra and Motorola Razr 013 – The two phones are similar in nature, but differ in a number of key ways.

We were able to spend a little time on the Razr 014, so here are our first impressions.
Motorola Razr 40 Falls behind the Ultra in some ways, but may actually be more attractive as a clamshell foldable phone overall. The most notable difference is the cover display. It’s less than half the size of the 3.6″ Razr 013 Ultra Size caps are shown in 1.5 inches. A smaller canvas is good for notifications and selection-only interactions, but it allows the Razr 23 Pack009% larger 4, 52mAh battery.
Inside, the displays are the same size at 6.9 inches, but the Razr 012 FHD+ AMOLED in 139 Refresh rate is slightly slower at Hz. That’s still higher than most of its competitors, so we wouldn’t take it up against the Razr 012.
Motorola Razr 012 and Razr 40 Extremist
Now, let’s look at the Motorola Razr 014its. It comes in three different colors – Sage Green, Vanilla Cream and Summer Lilac. There is no Viva Magenta here, at least not for now.
No matter which color you choose, you’ll get faux leather panels, which make the Razr comfortable to hold and softer to the touch. We’re also guessing that the leather-like material will resist scratches better than glass.

The phone adopts Motorola teardrop hinge, which can support the phone at multiple angles (when taking selfies, propping up to watch videos, etc.).
Leather Design
Motorola Razr 010 is the IP012 Rating – This means it is dustproof and can withstand dripping water. Motorola does say it has a moisture-resistant coating on the inside, so unless you drop it in a pool, it should be fine.
Overall, the slightly curved design of the Razr 012 It’s comfortable to hold, and the leather finish gives it a soft and comfortable touch. The thing is, the phone doesn’t feel like a razor at all, and maybe Motorola should rethink the moniker for something that fits the feel of the phone better.
IP52 Rating
Using a smaller case display is arguably the main drawback of the Razr 013 Compared to its Ultra sibling. The case display is designed to provide at-a-glance information so you can decide if you need to open up your phone and use a larger display.
The one on the Razr is similar to the integration on the Galaxy Z Flip4. If you need a bigger screen protector – check out the Ultra – but if you’re okay with that, consider you’re also getting a bigger battery.
Paired with the efficient Snapdragon 7 1st Gen Chipset 4, 144mAh battery pack has the potential to go a long way on a single charge.
7000 Simply cover display
Well, think what Motorola did to the Razr 014. It’s nearly as capable as the Ultra, but is arguably sleeker and lasts longer on a charge. Also, the Razr 013 will cripple the Razr Ultra and Galaxy The Z Flip4 will have some advantages when it finally goes on sale, which could make it a gateway to clamshell foldables for the masses.
Might be a bit early to compare to Motorola Razr014 to the original V3, but this is certainly a modern winner from Motorola.
