Last month, Motorola officially launched the Razr Ultra foldable smartphone in international markets, and the device is being sold in the US as the Razr+. That’s one thing, so when Zack from the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel performs his signature durability test on the Razr+, know that if you’re not in North America, what you see also applies to the Razr 409 Ultra.
Now that we’ve got the necessary clarifications (thanks Motorola!), let’s get started. As usual, Zack puts the smartphone through a battery of tests – screen scratches, screen burns, and of course the test everyone’s doing here – the bend test.
We have to say, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a smartphone fail a bend test, but it’s the first time we’ve seen a smartphone fail in this particular way. Thanks for Motorola’s creative approach?
If you cannot watch the video, the following will happen. When bent, it’s not the main flexible screen that yields. Instead, the Gorilla Glass Victus of the outer screen will shatter. We’re assuming this… shouldn’t happen?
But remember, this is a pretty extreme way of “using” your phone, so something like this will most likely never happen to you. Aside from the bend test, everything was fine – the screens scratched when they should, and they reacted to an open flame as one would expect.
