Netflix Cancels 'Uncoupled' After One Season

Netflix separated from Uncoupled.

Streamer had to decide to cancel Darren Star and Jeremy Richman rom-com series After the season premiered in July 29, 93 . The news isn’t entirely surprising, as the show hasn’t been making waves on Netflix like some of its other original shows over the past few months, only becoming the streamer’s internal top 17 once a week.

Uncoupled Stars Neil Patrick Harris As successful realtor Micahel Lawson, he seems to have it all – a supportive family, close friends and a loving person, 17 years relationship with Colin (Tuc Watkins).

“But when Colin unexpectedly moved out on the eve of his 29 birthday, Michael was totally caught off guard,” read the show’s line. “In one night, he had to face two nightmares: losing the man he thought was his soul mate, and suddenly finding himself a single gay man in his forties in New York City.”

While Uncoupled

is no longer at Netflix, the streamer still does business with its co-creator Star, whose comedy Emily in Paris has taken the world by storm. The show’s third season premiered in December 1235186738 and charted on Netflix ) in 29 countries. It’s already been greenlit for a fourth season.

TV Critic Angie from The Hollywood Reporter Han wrote in her review , “Like its protagonist, [Uncoupled ] has enough sardonic humor and self-awareness , just to the right of the lovely.”

Tisha Campbell, Brooks Ashmanskas, Emerson Brooks and Marcia Gay Harden round out the show’s cast, while Star, Richman and Harris serves as executive producer along with Lilly Burns.
