Netflix has approved a new Italian series, Supersex, based on the life of the infamous Italian porn and career starring Rocco Siffredi, aka “Buttman”.
Alessandro Borghi, star of the Netflix Mafia series Suburra and 2022 Cannes Jury Prize Winner Yasama will play the leading role. Jasmine Trinca, Adriano Giannini co-starred with a young Saul Nanni.
Netflix says the seven-episode series will be “freely” inspired by Siffredi’s life and career and Siffredi’s direct testimony. Supersex plans to tell Rocco’s story from childhood and family origins through his “Relationship with Love” that led him to a career in porn. The show was created by Francesca Manieri and screenwriter, directed by Matteo Rovere, Francesco Carrozzini and Francesca Mazzoleni.
“Supersex is the story of a man who needs seven episodes and minutes to say ‘I love you’ and accept that the demon in his body is compatible with love,” Maneri said. “To do that, he had to expose the only part of him we’ve never seen: his soul.” He said the series will explore “what does it mean to be male? Can we still reconcile sexuality and emotion?”
Siffredi became a global star in the adult film industry, known for his penchant for anal sex as well as extreme athleticism and performance intensity. He is one of the few porn actors who enjoys crossover appeal One, and has always been open about his struggles with sex addiction, which led to his eventual retirement as a porn actor in 2015.
Fremantle’s The Apartment and Banijay’s Groenlandia are producing Supersex , which has started shooting in Rome. The series will premiere 2023 on Netflix worldwide. 2023
