New phone, who is this this is ? Torre nearly left ONeill hanged
In the fifth inning of Thursday’s game against the Orioles, a former Yankee player tried to get in touch with his old manager.
Former Yankee captain Joe Torre at Yankee Stadium in the first row behind home plate was in attendance. Paul O’Neill, a member of Torre’s four World Series-winning Yankees and current YES Network broadcaster, was in a booth when he decided to call Torre.
No answer except Torre. O’Neal continued to try FaceTime Torre without success. To O’Neill’s satisfaction, the third was successful as the former player and manager were able to get in touch.
This was all filmed during commercial breaks at The YES broadcast booth was fully immersed in commentary and video as the five innings began.
