You have a lineup problem. We have the answer. At least we hope. Start ‘Em & Sit ‘Em has been helping fantasy managers make these tight lineup decisions for years. Do you know what a good decision is? Started by Patrick Mahomes. But it’s so obvious that you won’t see it here. Instead, here are some of the most pressing questions. And, if you can’t find the player you’re looking for, check out the latest NFL Fantasy lineup rankings here.
The Steelers had the highest defensive score in Week 1, scoring 24 fantasy points against the mighty Bengals offense. They recorded seven sacks, four interceptions and one turnover recovery, as well as one touchdown. TJ Watt’s losses are huge, but this defense has other playmakers like Minkah Fitzpatrick. This week’s offense against the Patriots, a team that has had a great preseason and Week 1 and has its own QB. Fire them this week.
Mustang The team played well against Seattle in Week 1, but failed to build on the edge, scoring just 5 fantasy points as they had two sacks and a turnover recovery. But they got another chance in a favorable matchup with the Texans. Houston allowed three sacks and a fumble recovery in Week 1 against the Colts and had the eighth-most fantasy points on defense last season. If you play them in week 1, you can go back to the well in week 2.
The Bengals didn’t do well in Week 1, but they got some sort of scheduling this week against the Cowboys without Dak Prescott. We saw how bad the offense was without him two years ago, when the boys were more talented than they are now. Things could get ugly for Dallas, but it’s good for facing their defense.
The Browns got 4 in Week 1 against the Panthers 2 sacks and 1 turnover, but they face the Jets this week. Last week, the Ravens moved into a top-eight defense because of that game. With Joe Flacco at the helm, the Jets are a team you can play against for fantasy purposes. The Browns are a streaming option this week.
The Eagles started last week and a defensive touchdown saved them, but they did give the Lions 35 points. This week they face the Vikings, who just played another tough defense in the Packers. Philly’s defense has a lot of talent, but this isn’t the week to start them.
The Titans were top 12 defensively in Week 1, but that was against the Giants. This week they face Josh Allen and the Bills, who just had a tough defense against the Rams . Simple rule of thumb: Defend Buffalo.
The Bears finished as a top 10 fantasy defense against the 49ers in Week 1. But this week, they face Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Yes, he struggled last week, but any Bears fan knows what he’s done to them historically. He himself says he owns them! This is not the week of live Chicago.
The Chargers have a lot of talent on defense, but JC Jackson (ankle ) is currently injured and cannot be guaranteed to play. That’s not why you’re sitting with them this week. The Chargers will face Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, who just finished with 360 yards and five touchdowns. Just like the Bills, play defense against the Chiefs.
