Green Bay, Wisconsin – Week 1 was the most unpredictable of the NFL season, a fact reflected in our latest NFL Combined Power Rankings.
Four of the top 10 last week – Los Angeles Rams (2nd), Green Bay Packers (5th), Cincinnati Bengals (6th) and the San Francisco 49ers (No. 7) — both lost their opening games.
Combining our thoughts and rankings from seven national media outlets, the Buffalo Bills remain the No. 1 overall.
The Packers are firmly in the top 10 everywhere except No. 33, and Paul Domovich moved them from No. 9 to No. 15.
“Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantlin don’t live here anymore and think Aaron Rodgers can win the game even if thrown to a bunch of schmoes The belief is incorrect,” he wrote.
Packers dropped from sixth to eighth Packers Center. They are ranked sixth in Sports Illustrated.
“Like last year, the Packers were gutted in Week 1 by an opponent generating relentless QB pressure,” wrote Conor Orr of SI.com. “In some places, it’s a complete failure. In the Packers offense, it’s more of a machine learning experience. In two weeks, they’ll be fine.”
The Packers host the Chicago Bears on Sunday night. Chicago beat the 49ers in the monsoons but didn’t get much love from the pundits. The Bears are ranked 25th on NFL.com, the highest score that makes up the overall ranking.
“Fields has playmaker qualities that generate enough power to bring a team back to life,” Dan wrote NFL.com’s Hanzus.
