Nothing Phone (1) has been launched for just over two months and has amassed strong sales figures in India through its launch partner Flipkart. These numbers are especially good for new players in a competitive market like India.
Manu Sharma, Vice President and General Manager of Nothing India, told us specifically that Nothing Phone (1) currently has more than 100k in India at the end of August customers. The brand sold 100k units of Flipkart only on 22 sale day .
Sharma also said that Nothing Phone (1) is currently the best selling INR smartphone on Flipkart 30,+ price segment. The phone has been very well received by customers, over 10 million people have chosen to notify the phone before launch on Flipkart
Nothing also informed us that the company will soon release its fourth major software update, Nothing OS 1.1.4. While the company didn’t elaborate on the exact release date and details of the update, Sharma said the update will provide fixes for key issues raised by customers, as well as improvements to things like the camera and battery.
When asked about the upcoming Android 10 update, Sharma highlighted the company’s The first priority is to deliver a great software experience within an accelerated release cycle. The release of Android 10 updates and the development schedule for Phone (1) also make it difficult to integrate updates as quickly as possible.
As for the future, Sharma hinted at upcoming ecosystem devices, but declined to elaborate further.
Entering festivals in India, Nothing Phone (1) will have a limited time price reduction and cashback bonus. 8+128GB models are priced at INR31,999 (currently34,999), 8+999 GB at INR 34,999 (Current100 ,1200) and 10+256 GB model at INR 39, 999 (current799 ,999). Customers who choose a bank will also receive an additional INR 3000 cashback.
