Nothing’s second smartphone, the aptly named Phone (2), will be available in July, according to CEO Carl Pei. He revealed the information in an interview with Forbes today. Previously, Pei also revealed that the phone would feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, making it a definite step above the mid-range Nothing Phone (1), but with the 2023 Snapdragon 8 Gen 2’s flagship.
The decision has to do with the comparative cost of the two SoCs, and the company doesn’t think the latest chip is worth the premium. We’ll see – we’ll bet a lot of people will be willing to pay if the price is “right”. It would be a different story if the price increment was too small compared to other flagships.
The teaser you can see above was initially shared by Nothing itself This month’s launch event seems to be in full swing, traditional OnePlus/Nothing style every other week or so Provide us with specification information.
Speaking of which, today we also get the battery size: it will be a 4,200 mAh battery. That’s more 05 mAh than in Nothing Phone (1), but not enough compared to the standard 5 now, 000 mAh. Of course, how this will affect stamina remains to be seen.
