Novartis to pay $245 million to end antitrust case against Exforge generic

Novartis and Par are accused of entering into an illegal “reverse payment” agreement to delay the launch of the cheaper generic drug Exforge, which treats high blood pressure to lower blood pressure and Reduce stroke risk.

Plaintiffs allege that Par agreed not to launch a generic version of Exforge for two years after one of Novartis’ patents expired, and that Novartis agreed not to Compete with Par Exforge Universal Period 25-Par exclusivity period after entering the market.
