Franchise-friendly filmmaker Ruben Fleischer will land another film series and the director will take over Now You See Me 3, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Lionsgate is the man behind the third magic-centric franchise, The franchise started 2013 and starred Fleischer Zombieland actors Jesse Eisenberg and Wu Dee Harrison, with Isla Fisher, Dave Franco and Morgan Freeman.
Seth Grahame-Smith, The LEGO Batman Movie and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies , also appeared on the film as a screenwriter. Eric Warren wrote an early version of the script. The new part will reunite old characters and introduce new players to the world of magicians known as the Four Horsemen.
Original with Louis Leterrier at the helm, John M. Chu at the helm 2016 Sequel, gross $687 million.
Fleischer’s latest works include Venom , Zombieland 2 and Uncharted. The director said in a statement: “There are three things in this world that I absolutely love… Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and magic. The opportunity to work with this Two talented actors working together, and the rest of the incredible cast in the Now You See Me film, is a dream come true.”
Bobby Cohen and Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout will produce. Meredith Wieck and Chisom Ude are overseeing Lionsgate.
Fleisher was replaced by CAA and Sloane Offer. Grahame-Smith was replaced by WME and Johnson Shapiro.
