On the Podcast: Lauren Santo Domingo, Wes Gordon, and Cannes Harvest

“Sometimes, the most rebellious thing you can do The thing is elegance,” so Carolina Herrera told Wes Gordon, the suave young successor to her eponymous fashion line, who joined our studio last week. Ms. Herrera’s wit seems to be the theme of this week’s episode of The Run-Through. Memorial Day weekend is coming to a close, and we’re kicking off the summer with full force, heading straight to Rio de Janeiro, where Gordon presents his Carolina Herrera resort show and takes in the sunset views of the city skyline. Just before he leaves for Brazil, Gordon talks us through the brand’s first resort collection and first destination show. He talks about everything from his first interview with Herrera (they talked for two hours, barely mentioning the clothes) to the brand’s “conversational cardigan,” eye-catching with bugs and more Featured in the details – though we had no trouble talking, even without the cardigans!

Later on in the show we have more elegant rebellion, or rebellious elegance, from one of the city’s most stylish hostesses, Lauren St. Domingo (and guests) who happen to love breaking the rules of entertaining — and her own closet management adage “one in, two out.” The newly appointed artistic director of Tiffany’s home collection tells us the story of her early days as marketing editor at Vogue

, her hospitality secrets (put Guests come first), what gifts she gives as a guest (flowers afterward, or nothing at all!), and what she likes to receive as a hostess (a book someone recently read and liked).
