This summer, Batsheva Hay has spent a lot of time in the town of South Salem in upstate New York, where her mother-in-law has a lake house. The idyllic time is spent surrounded by nature and various animals, like chickens, lizards, and birds. “Last week we even caught a fish!,” Hay, a native New Yorker, shared in an e-mail. It’s the perfect place to recharge and mentally prepare for the impending chaos of New York Fashion Week, which is kicking off in a few weeks. This season the designer will once again hold a presentation, though she’s keeping mum on the secrets. Not that we’re worried, whether an installation/performance at an art gallery, or a breakfast at a midtown Kosher deli, her show is one never to be missed.
