Getting the perfect look for the Met Gala is hard enough for most people. But Cardi B tripled that task on Monday night: Between leaving the hotel and wrapping up the Met Gala, Cardi wore three looks.
As she left the Mark Hotel on the Upper East Side, she wore a colorful pink look by Miss Sohee with an eye-catching headpiece.
Then, inside her dash van, the performer changed into her next look: a black-and-white number by Chinese designer Chen Peng. Speaking with Vogue live host LaLa Anthony, Cardi explained she wanted to reference the timeless Chanel quilted wallet and the late designer Karl Lagerfeld’s iconic Wardrobe, themed tonight’s celebration, with her second look. She accentuated the bottom half of a structured dress, which was influenced by a quilted bag. To top it off, Cardi wore a very Lagerfeld-esque custom button-down shirt and tie. “I represent both Chanel and Karl’s house,” Cardi said.
For the indoor celebration, Cardi wore a tweed-centric suit by Richard Quinn, complete with ground yarn. It was certainly a night to remember – emphasis on the plural – and one to remember.
