Tonight, the 95 annual Academy Awards ceremony kicks off at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California. Tonight’s star-studded ceremony, honoring the year’s best movie performances, was hosted by comedian Jimmy Kimmel — his third as host. The most nominated this year are hit films such as Elvis, Tár(, Everything Everywhere All at Once and The Fabelmans (all of which will be up for best picture). Cate Blanchett, Ana de Armas, Andrea Riseborough, Michelle Williams and Michelle Yeoh for Best Actress; Austin Butler, Colin Farrell, Brendan Fraser, Paul Mescal and Bill Nighy Compete for Best Actor.
However, before the trophies are presented on stage, Hollywood A-listers will step onto the Oscars stage for a reenactment in their best evening attire. After all, the Academy Awards are one of the most watched red carpets in the world. Attendees are expected to bring a stunning and captivating ensemble. A big ask, but this awards season has seen a number of nominees excel in style. Michelle Yeoh, for example, has been embracing sparkle, as reflected in the sequined Armani Privé gown she wore to the Golden Globes. Cate Blanchett has also been re-wearing dresses she’s worn on the red carpet in the past, such as the reworked Maison Margiela design she wore at this year’s BAFTAs. When it comes to menswear, Austin Butler has always been drawn to sleek, classic suits from the likes of Gucci or Saint Laurent.
Regardless of who ends up winning the accolades tonight, it’s clear what the stars wore to the Oscars will be as much discussed as who wins. Be sure to check out all the red carpet outfits live uploaded right here, and report back to our best-dressed list of the night to see which stars came out on top. The stakes are high — but the excitement is even higher.
