Oscars: Cameroon chooses 'The Planters Plantation' to submit as international feature film

Cameroon selected director Eystein Young’s The Planter’s Plantation as its submission to the Best International Feature category 2023 Oscar .

Dramatic music The show is produced by Extrafix Media, BGC Melody Story and Inn Amore Pictures. The Planters Plantation, shot in Cameroon and set in 1960 West Africa, depicts a young woman protecting her family and Socially struggling with division, betrayal and secrecy, her late father’s legacy – the colonial plantation left to him at independence.

Eystein Young wrote and directed the film and shared the producer’s work with co-star Irene Nangi. Don Julio Bats and co-star Quinny Ijang are executive producers.

The Planters Plantation cast includes Nimo Loveline as Enanga, Loic Sumfor, Stephanie Tum, Nkem Owoh and Syriette Che .

This Cameroonian film recently won three awards at the Ecran Noir Film Festival, including Including Ecran D’or.

Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will announce 15 shortlist of competition The International Film Oscars 21 in December. Five nominees will be announced in January 24. The 95 Academy Awards ceremony will be held in March 12, 2023.
