Our first look at Feud: Capote's Swan is everything we hoped for

When it was announced in April that the second season of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series Feud would focus on Truman Capote’s Swan, we knew the costumes immediately It will be incredible. The cast includes Naomi Watts as Babe Paley, Chloë Sevigny as CZ Guest, and Calista Fur Calista Flockhart as Lee Radziwill, how can we not see some big fashion moments from these lush, eat Ladies of luxury for lunch?

Today we got our first look at Watts and Sevigny in costume – and it didn’t disappoint. Sevigny (who is the pinnacle of downtown chic in her day-to-day wardrobe) was spotted wearing a blue trench coat with a helmet on, large black sunglasses and a handbag. However, for a truly 1970 socialite look, she wore black gloves that featured pearl studs that were even visible to the paparazzi. After all, Sevigny’s character was an It-girl of her day—the muse to Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali, and Slim Aarons—and the casting was as fitting as her costumes.

While it’s easy to see Sevigny’s look on the Upper East Side today, as Paley, Watts looks a bit out of place. (The former Vogue editor’s signature bouffant was also of the era.) Her skyrim hair was paired with a beige skirt, top, frayed coat, square tortoiseshell glasses and a statement belt. She naturally completed the look with a tote and gloves, albeit in a lighter shade of brown than Sevigny.

Ryan Murphy is known for his meticulous attention to visuals – if these photos are anything to go by? Capote’s women will dress just like real life women.
