Tracy Reese’s clothes are often filled with optimism—bright prints, no-nonsense attitude. This season, she revolved around one design idea: the cape. It was more formal than what she usually wears, but she brought them back down to earth with a floral and sunset print and used them on the back of the top instead of the gown. This is an important message from the Resort
collection. Somewhat related to capes are flowy off-the-shoulder tops and layering for a breezy look.
The strongest piece in the collection has more structure. An evening piece with a Watteau backing, for example, came in both a lilac floral print and a dark ombré print. This maxi dress has just the right amount of drama. Likewise, a high-necked midi dress with bishop sleeves and a prominent waist looks intentional and elegant.
