Peraza is still with the Yankees ‘ Plan after being eliminated

“I know him0s are going to go there and dominate,” Cashman said. “He just has to wait for the opportunity to open up or force his way back. He has great quality that we still believe in. There’s only one spot available. … We let the best man win and Anthony Volpe took it.”
“I felt really good in training camp.… … Defensively, I feel like [I’m in] playing at the right time,” Peraza said. “The key is to keep working. I feel like I I’ve made some adjustments here or worked with our coaches and I found myself in a good position as well.”
Peraza shortstop’s future may depend on Volpe’s success. Cashman doesn’t rule out Peraza eventually switching positions, or at least working on another infield position at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
“When you reach this level now….. .I mean, Peraza is a shortstop,” Cashman said. “But I do think it would be good for us to make sure we have some flexibility with him.”
