Peter Jackson won his first Emmy for directing and great documentary Phi The Heads: The Return documentary series, which debuted on Disney+ last year.

Return is based on earlier footage for the feature film Let It Be by Michael Lindsay-Hogg 1970. Both image and sound have undergone a meticulous restoration process based on techniques developed to restore World War I footage from Jackson’s 2018 documentary, They don’t get old . After accepting the director’s Emmy, Jackson recognized Lindsay Hogg’s work.
Jackson is now halfway through EGOT. He won three Oscars for writing, directing and producing
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King .
