Phoebe Waller-Bridge is in action at Amazon.
Emmy-winning Fleabag grad is preparing an action film based on the popular video game Production of TV series Tomb Raider
. This project is under development and is the latest in a recently renewed overall deal in Waller-Bridge with retail giants and streamers.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Waller-Bridge is attached as tomb Raider. Waller-Bridge is not scheduled to star in a television adaptation of the property, which spawned the 2001 and 2001 The film adaptation stars Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander as adventurous archaeologists. The Lara Croft character has also been voiced in a series of video games by actresses such as Camilla Luddington, Keeley Hawes, and Minnie Driver. Hayley Atwell also brings the character to life in the Netflix animated series.
In addition to writing, Waller-Bridge will produce Amazon series with former head of comedy and drama Ryan Andolina and former head of general deals Amanda Greenblatt. Andolina and Greenblatt formed their own production company and struck a deal with Amazon. Dmitri M. Johnson will also executive produce through his dj2 company.
Amazon did not immediately respond to THR’s request for comment.
Tomb Raider becomes Waller’s latest project – a bridge to the Amazon. Actress Writer Producer is also developing Sign Here, an Adapted from the book by Claudia Lux, with a script by the author.
The Jennifer Salke-led platform announced last March that it had greenlit a Waller-Bridge series but declined to provide details, including whether it was a comedy or a drama. Source Notes Tomb Raider is not that item. Production on the mystery series was originally scheduled to begin last year; it’s unclear if that’s still on schedule.
Waller-Bridge previously starred opposite Donald Glover in the TV version of Brad Pitt and Jolie’s action-thriller gentlemen. & Mrs. Smith but actress in her opinion on the project with Atlanta

After the breakout success of AmazonFleabag, the Waller-Bridge has been in high demand. With her original three-year contract expiring late last year, sources noted that Amazon was actively approaching her to renew her contract. Waller-Bridge opposite Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones 5 and co-wrote the James Bond feature No Time to Die. Her television credits also include HBO’s
Run.
