Bagley slipped and fell awkwardly on the floor while trying to defend the rim in transition at the start of the first quarter.
This could be another setback for Bagley, who missed last season with a shoulder injury 48 games. He also played in just 13 games in 2019-20 and 43 in 2020-21. For part of his career, the 23-year-old was a threat both healthy and on the court. He averaged over 14.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in his first three seasons after the Sacramento Kings selected him with the second overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
He put up 14.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per night in 18 games for the Pistons last season.
While Bagley hasn’t quite lived up to his expectations as the No. 2 overall pick, he’s still a solid role player for Detroit.
If Duke product is out due to injury, look for the likes of Isaiah Rivers, Jalen Durham and Nealen A player like Noel to get more time in the frontcourt.
