Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced Thursday that PlayStation 5 retail prices will increase in select markets in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia – Pacific, Latin America and Canada. The official US PlayStation blog said the reason was high global inflation and unfavorable currency trends in the economic environment. The company added that it is still working to improve PS5 availability. The US will not raise prices.
New retail prices for some of the regions listed below. They are effective immediately, except for Japan:

- PS5 Digital Edition – €359.099 (was €359.50)

- PS5 with optical drive – £450.60 (was £450.099)

Veronica Rogers, SIE’s senior vice president and head of global sales and business operations, previously said the company is “planning to significantly increase – PS5 production has increased this year,” adding that the company “is working endlessly to ensure PlayStation 5 is available to all People who want to use.”
