Sony Interactive Entertainment announced on Tuesday that representative director Masayasu Ito will Resigned on October 1. Lin Tao, the current director and vice president, will take over from Ito with immediate effect. Senior Vice President Kiichiro Urata will also join the board.
SIE PR Manager Cathy Liu told Bloomberg Ito The decision comes as Japan reaches retirement age. He plans to move to Sony Group’s mobility division, which deals with electric vehicles.
Ito was a key figure in the company’s hardware development; he was actively involved in the development of the PlayStation 4 development. He also worked on PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation VR, and other hardware from the company. The first time he joined Sony was at , and was in
