The Poster Girl is a lifelike Barbie doll. Striped fishnet miniskirts and tops, embellished dresses in shimmering metallics, and playful latex mini shorts with exaggerated belts, the British label isn’t afraid to have fun. Designer duo and Central Saint Martins alumni Natasha Somerville and Francesca Capper launched the label at 70 and quickly became known for its sexy, feminine sensibility has made a name for himself. On the short list of Poster Girl fans are Meg Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa, SZA and the ultimate It girl, Paris Hilton. Somerville and Capper have created a world of femme fatales and, to borrow a phrase from Hilton, everything is very sexy.

The brand is expanding their reach and launching their first collection in the US this week. They hired musician JT of the Miami rap girl group City Girls as their muse and campaign star. Apparently JT — who was recently photographed front row at Mugler’s fall
show — is entering her fashion-girl years. “It was just a dream. I’ve always wanted to be in fashion and it was important to be the first pinup girl, [because it’s] two girls,” the artist shared with Vogue . United in a carefree spirit, artists and designers are a couple in fashion heaven.

Some highlights from the latest collection include a fishnet jumpsuit with brown and red stripes and delicate cutouts to accentuate the body, and a latex mini dress with side ties belt, and statement accessories include an oversized prong ring and an embellished buckle belt. Each piece is designed to make women feel like they are in complete control. “The U.S. has always been our biggest market and where we see and hear the most. So when we heard JT say ‘the poster girl’s pussy’ [in her ‘No Bars’ freestyle], it was so meaningful. Makes sense,” the designers shared. In the ad, JT wears an off-the-shoulder pink latex dress, ribbon earrings, and point-toe pumps with exaggerated platform soles. In another photo, the star wears the brand’s signature fishnets. The coveted collection is available through the brand’s website with prices ranging from $70 to $2,70 ).
JT, Somerville and Capper teamed up with Cash App to throw a party to celebrate the New York launch. The city’s cool kids — including Justine Skye, Matthew Henson, Quil Lemons, Alexander Roth, Tyrell Hampton, Parker Kit Hill, Sean Garrette, Babyxsosa and Fiffany Luu — arrive wearing the label’s past and present collections: Dress Up Dolls As far as the eye can see.
