While that’s a ton of new games, there’s one big omission: retro games. One of the main selling points of PS Plus Premium is its roster of classic PS1, PS2, PSP and PS3 games that players can download and play on demand. But any retro enthusiast looking to dig into Sony’s rear catalog isn’t going to play anything new in this month’s lineup.
This is a repeat of last month’s PS Plus screening, which also included no other retro games other than two PSP ports. Once again Sony seems to be forgetting about Premium members, who may be frustrated that their higher subscription fees give them fewer monthly perks than the cheaper Extra tier.
Using the revamped PS Plus platform launched only a few months ago, Premium members may still enjoy the plethora of retro games included at launch. But that won’t keep them occupied forever, especially since many of them are just carried over from the old PlayStation Now service.
If future PS Plus monthly line-ups continue to offer no new retro games, premium users may consider an extra $3/£2.50/AU$3 The monthly fee is not worth it at all.- Nintendo offered to try Splatoon 3 before its release
