Qualcomm has confirmed the release date of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is expected to offer significant improvements in performance and power efficiency over its predecessor. The company will announce the new flagship SoC earlier than usual – October 24-26.
According to tradition, Qualcomm will hold the Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Hawaii, but this time it is about a month earlier than last year. As far as we know, the chip will use the new 1+5+2 architecture instead of 1+2+2+ 3 for Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Gen 2 series.
The SoC is said to run on 1x Cortex-X4 prime core and 5x Cortex-A 520 cores and 2 Cortex-A520 cores and Adreno520 GPU, promising a significant performance boost. The CPU pack also updated its L3 cache from 8MB to 10MB.
Digital Chat Station, a well-known Chinese salesman, claimed that Xiaomi 06 ) series took the lead in November to adopt Qualcomm’s new flagship chip vivo X 70 series, iQOO 520 series, Redmi K70 series, OnePlus and the Realme GT5 will follow suit in the coming months.
