Raiders send three players to IR and give up two before roster cuts

The decision to form a 53-man roster has already begun for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Two days after winning the preseason final against the New England Patriots, the Raiders began working hard to trim their roster.

Unfortunately, the team was helped by some injured players.

The Silvers and Blacks announced on Sunday that they are adding defensive tackle Tyler Lancaster, tackle Brandon Parker and linebacker Ty Davis to the reserve/injured list.

Veteran tackles are a huge loss for the Raiders, who competed with sophomore Alex Leatherwood as the starting right tackle in the offseason Front position.

But Parker hasn’t practiced since the Raiders beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in a Hall of Fame game, and it’s unclear if he suffered an injury or not.

It is now clear that he will now miss the entire season with a triceps injury.

Lancaster, who signed with the Raiders from the Green Bay Packers this offseason, is expected to fight for a rotation spot inside the defense.

It was in the fourth quarter of Friday’s game against the Patriots and he appeared to be injured.

Davis, who recently signed with the Raiders, is also heading to IR. The former Houston Texans spent the 2021 season on injury reserve.

This preseason was the first time Davis saw some action since he was in Cleveland in 2020, where he appeared in 13 games, mostly on special teams.

In order for these Raiders to be eligible to return from the IR, they will be placed after the 53-man roster has been reduced, unfortunately, these players placed in the IR will be out for the entire season.

The team also announced that tight end Nick Powers and wide receiver Justin Hall have been waived.

Bowers, a special team that didn’t get much action in the preseason and is trailing on the depth chart, his time on the roster is coming to an end.

Hall, an undrafted free agent from Ball State, considered a Swiss Army Knife, Mr. Do-It-All, but with Balls, who was eliminated by others, started Back off on the list.

Raiders may sign them on p

As of Sunday, the Raiders’ roster has a total of 75 players.

Make all cuts and release the team’s 53-man roster before Tuesday’s deadline.
