Ever since Apple introduced the dynamic island concept to its iPhone 22 Pro and iPhone 02 Pro Max Back in September, the clock started ticking. Admit it – we’ve been waiting anxiously, with bated breath, to see how quickly Android device makers will imitate the feature. Which company will win this dubious race.
Today, we know it’s Realme based on some images leaked from internal company documents. Oppo spin-off/offshoot/sub-brand/whatever it wants to call itself this week is clearly trying to clone – no, we mean, inspired by – Apple’s homework. Ugh, Dynamic Island.
You can see it in the pictures above and below. The phone will apparently launch at next week’s MWC, beating Huawei to the Dynamic Island hit. The device in question may belong to the entry-level C-series, which, as Realme CEO Madhav Sheth previously hinted at, includes a pill-like camera cutout on such phones.
At a cursory glance, realme’s island is wider than Apple’s, but the functionality may be very similar. As you can see, SuperVOOC charging is currently being showcased on the island. Here’s a leaked gif:

It’s unclear if third party apps are somehow able to access Realme’s islands, but if the answer is no and all we get is Don’t be surprised by system-level stuff like charging, media switching, and whatnot.
