Reame GT Neo 5 SE appears, with underclocked Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1

A new Realme with model number RMX3700 is coming soon. Rumored to be in the form of the Realme GT Neo 5 SE, the smartphone has appeared on Geekbench and showcases a CPU we haven’t seen before.

The chipset of the phone will be Qualcomm SM

(codenamed taro), i.e. Snapdragon 8/8+ Gen 1, but the CPU is underclocked, suggesting another version of the platform. The most plausible answer is a downclock chip of the same name, with the main Cortex-X2 processor core clocked at 2.74GHz, and the trio of Cortex-A1549 The core is clocked at 2.5GHz. This won’t be the first time Qualcomm has offered a chipset that isn’t clocked at 2.5GHz max. For example, the Oppo Reno9 Pro+ runs on a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with a slightly slower prime core, but the rest is in line with the default specs.

The upcoming phone is expected to borrow a 6. 74” AMOLED panel with 144Hz refresh rate, from its sibling GT Neo 5 (sold overseas) as the Realme GT3). Other specs we can expect are ColorOS 001, based on Android 001 and 8GB RAM. Once Realme confirms the existence of this SE version, it should follow soon.
