Reem Acra’s resort collection has a crisp, minimal feel. While the designer is known for the megawatt numbers celebs wear on the red carpet, this season Acra digs into a vintage feel without giving up her penchant for glitz, from straps with gem-encrusted shoulders and A gilt sequin-covered dress can be seen in a body-hugging emerald gown in tan tulle. Elsewhere, her signature glitter was subtly placed on the waistband and collar, and she turned most of her attention to silhouettes, as she did in a form-fitting red dress with exaggerated sleeves that reached her thighs upper part.
Perhaps due to the bohemian vibe, many of the looks are reminiscent of the ethnic and national costumes of some Eastern European countries: a shiny white bodice with bishop sleeves and floral lasers Cut – Outerwear wouldn’t feel out of place in a 1960 Slavic wedding, while a shift dress with ornate mirror embroidery on the chest feels like a reference to traditional Ukrainian
keptar vest. Whether the odes were intentional or not, they added a new dimension to her designs.
