Report: Phoenix Suns to host Mavericks on opening night

If the Phoenix Suns are going on a revenge journey, there’s no better place to start than by eliminating their team in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports that the Suns will host the Dallas Mavericks on October 19 to kick off the season.

This is the second confirmed game for the Suns, who will play the Denver Nuggets on Christmas Day.

The Suns and Mavericks retain the same lineup as the seven-game series, albeit with some notable changes.

Jalen Brunson left Dallas for a nice salary with the New York Knicks, while JaVale McGee left Phoenix and, interestingly, joined Dallas.

The NBA schedule for the entire 2022-23 season has not been announced, but we now know where and where the Suns will start their next season.
