The Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team will begin their 2022-2023 season in just two weeks, and Greg Gard and the Badgers will reportedly host their 2024 recruiting class this weekend when they officially visit Two of the best overall prospects.
According to the 24/7 High School Hoops, 2024 point guard Daniel Freitag will be visiting the school this Saturday for an official visit. The visit marks Freitag’s third trip to campus this fall, having traveled to Madison on Sept. 3 for the Illinois state game and returning to the Illinois state game on Oct. 1.
Freitag, rated four stars by 247 Sports and Rivals, is arguably one of Wisconsin’s top targets for the Class of 2024, and he’s a standout athlete on the football and hardwood courts. He is the No. 53 player in the nation according to the 247 Sports Composite ranking, he is a top-10 point guard in his class, and No. 1 in Minnesota.
Freitag was great in transition and halftime, receiving additional offers from Baylor, Iowa, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and Virginia , but Wisconsin was considered one of the early favorites for the 6-foot-2 point guard who played well on both ends of the floor.
Joining Freitag for the visit will be AAU teammate Jack Robinson.
Robison, a 6-foot-6 small forward known primarily for his outside shooting ability, has been a regular at Madison for the past two seasons.
Robison is a 3-star recruit for 247 Sports who also has scholarship opportunities in Minnesota, Nebraska and South Florida. He is the No. 145 nationally ranked player and the No. 3 ranked player in Minnesota for the Class of 2024.
The lead recruiter for both players is Wisconsin assistant coach Joe Crabenhoft, an alumnus of their AAU program, Howard Pooley Basketball. Some of the other notable players Howard Pulley played for Wisconsin include Jared Berggren, Brad Davison and Jordan Taylor.

The two young stars also play in the same AAU program as current Wisconsin Nolan Winter, who last month selected the Badgers over Minnesota State. Robinson was also a high school teammate with Winters in Northlake, at the same school as Tyler Wahl and Nate Rufus.
Wisconsin is still looking for its first commitment in the 2024 recruiting cycle, and the duo of Freitag and Robison will be the start of a sizable academic scholarship.
