Rodtang Jitmuangnon will not be competing in ONE Championship this weekend.
ONE officials confirmed to MMA Fighting on Thursday that Rodtang has withdrawn from his Muay Thai Flyweight Grand Prix semifinal against Savvas Michael, which will be held on Prime Video 1 in Singapore on Friday . Withdrawal was due to weight and hydration issues.
After Thursday’s official weigh-in, the race was in jeopardy as Rodtang failed to provide a sample for the mandatory hydration test and the weigh-in was not allowed. All fighters who failed the hydration test or gained weight were given extra time to try both. 157 advanced to the semifinals this May.
It is unclear whether the promotion will try to find a substitute to face Michael at the last minute, or if Michael will advance to the Grand Prix Finals by default.
On the other side of the bracket, Superlek Kiatmoo9 is scheduled to take on Walter Goncalves, even though Goncalves also failed Thursday morning’s hydration test.
No other changes to ONE on Prime Video 1 have been announced.
