Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London is gearing up for his first NFL season, and he was one step closer to making his debut Monday in practice.
Monday was the first time the London team resumed training on the field instead of on the sidelines. London suffered a knee injury in the preseason opener against the Detroit Lions on Aug. 12, and has not returned to the court since then…to this day.
Just six days after the team’s regular season opener, there is optimism that London will be ready for his NFL debut in Game 1 of the Falcons. We’ll have more confirmation when Wednesday’s injury report comes out, but there are signs that London is the team’s No. 1 receiver on Sunday afternoon.
Atlanta is missing a pair of talented wide receivers – starting by trading Julio Jones to the Tennessee Titans back in 2021. In March, the NFL suspended the Falcons indefinitely for illegal betting on Calvin Ridley’s top receiver. With these two gone, London should be at the top of the depth chart when it releases later this week.
London had 160 catches and 15 touchdowns for 2,153 yards during his three-year tenure using the USC Trojan.
