‘Big’ Ben Rothwell is set to ‘Toe the Line’ for the first time since signing with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC).
MMA Fighting’s Steven Marrocco reports on Roswell’s debut against Bobo O’Bannon at BKFC 30 , an upcoming event on October 1st at Fanter Ewing Coliseum in Louisiana.
The former UFC heavyweight’s demands to be removed from promotion to pursue other opportunities in combat sports led him to start boxing. Roswell went 9-8 during his UFC tenure. He lost to Marcos Rogerio de Lima in the first round of TKO in his final Octagon match at UFC Vegas 42 last November.
Although he received several offers for promotion, Roswell was in MMA hour
BKFC has the best.
“BKFC made the best offer and I’m very excited,” Roswell said. “I believe this is the right place for me because I was doing BKFC long before MMA. So it’s a part of my life, what my great-grandfather was doing, maybe not legal, but has a history of it. It’s just something in my blood and I’m really happy to be with them.”
BKFC President David Feldman also expressed His excitement about signing Roswell, he said, is “exactly what BKFC is all about”.
O’Bannon, a BKFC veteran, advanced 3-3. The Biblical Belt Brawlers had a two-game winning streak before being finished by Alan Belcher at BKFC Jackson in January.
BKFC 30 will headline the heavyweight title fight between Lorenzo Hunt and Quentin Henry.
