You can watch this rough scent swipe a hundred times in a row and still wonder how in hell he managed to avoid being flagged. He’s more or less completely out of control, but he can twist every part of his body to make sure he doesn’t get out of control. It’s almost like swimming on the dirt, doing one big freestyle stroke, avoiding gloves and finally being safe.
This is not something that can be practiced or trained – not really. It’s all about instinct. The scent senses where the label is coming from and does everything it can to get around it, and the result gives us one of the highlights of the year.
The Orioles went on to win 9-6, but that result will be largely forgotten. This clip will be watched for years and go down in history.
