This week announced several new partnerships between traditional electronic health record vendors and small tech companies to deliver technology across a variety of clinical and operational use cases Services and Features.

Allscripts Approves Third-Party Referral Automation Platform for EHR

Allscripts has approved a third-party integration with the patient-provider matching tool ReferralPoint for the Allscripts Professional EHR and Allscripts Practice Management Platform. With matching capabilities and automated referral coordinator Sara, the tool is designed to eliminate manual steps to increase efficiency, reduce patient leakage and costs, and enhance the patient experience.

Regardless of the referring specialist’s EHR system, ReferralPoint says Allscripts users can one-click selection based on in-network, lowest cost, highest quality and patient alignment patient-provider matching preferences.

ReferralPoint uses objective data for its provider and facility rankings and the automation of processing authorization, scheduling, and related patient and provider communications. The third-party program also communicates rates to patients, collects their feedback and sends a record of the consultation to the referring physician. Quarterly, it outlines the referral program’s key performance indicators and progress over time.

“Joining the Allscripts Developer Program will allow us to help provider practices ensure their patients receive the right care at the right time, while supporting per-service fee-based and value-based care plans,” ReferralPoint CEO Robert Harris said in a statement.

Fullscript with Comes with the ability for athenaOne users to write and share supplemental dose treatment plans that are automatically synced to patient health records.

Supplements can be searched by ingredient, strength, or brand. Medical practice can vary dosages, labeling instructions and other variables to tailor treatment to patients. Automatic replenishment reminders are another feature designed to simplify replenishment processing.
