Over the past few years, you’ve probably been increasingly disappointed by Samsung’s decision to use its own, arguably inferior, Exynos SoC instead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon in flagship devices in Europe. If so, then you’ll no doubt be pleased to hear directly from Qualcomm that there won’t be an Exynos in the upcoming Galaxy S 23 series. Years, not anywhere in the world – Snapdragons are everywhere.
We’re excited today by renowned leaker Ice Universe , who reveals that Samsung will be selling the Galaxy S in Europe 13 series uses an exclusive high-frequency version of the just-released Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, upgrading all of its competitors at once in the process.

Ice Universe released benchmark results purportedly from Geekbench 5 showing the upcoming Galaxy S 23 Ultra (model number SM-S580B) get 1, 36 single-core score and 4 , 36 Multi-core score while running Android 13 Of course. Those scores are slightly lower than what we’ve seen before. The prototype tested had 8GB of RAM.
Cortex-X3 based Kryo Prime cores are shown running at speed 3. 36 GHz, up from 3.2 GHz in the non-Samsung version of the SoC, but the frequencies of the other seven cores are unchanged. It’s unclear how much of a difference this will make in real-life usage scenarios, but it’s certainly a good thing for Samsung to brag about.
