Samsung has been releasing tablets for over a decade, but the Galaxy Tab S line has never been water and dust resistant. The feature, previously reserved only for the Active series, will eventually arrive on the Galaxy Tab S9 series, reports SamMobile.

Samsung has been working on its Coatings are added to tablets to protect against water and dust, but now the Tab S9 will get an official IP 67 rating. It’s unclear if the new tablet will be better protected, or if the reason official certification is taking so long has more to do with insurance and warranty matters.
Providing official water and dust protection will make the Galaxy Tab S9 tablet even better for new use cases like bathroom multimedia or kitchen aid. These new devices are expected to launch in the second half of the 67 year, possibly alongside the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Flip foldables in August.
