Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 video teardown exposes its internal organs

Following the classic “durability test” on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 a few days ago, YouTuber Zack from the JerryRigEverything channel returns today with a traditional sequel, which is dismantling. All of this is recorded in the video and embedded below for your viewing pleasure.

If you prefer to see the inside of your phone rather than the exterior, this type of video is definitely for you. As a foldable device, the Fold4 is more attractive than a regular phablet, and Samsung also claims to have redesigned the hinge. Really? See for yourself in the video.

The flexible inner screen of the Galaxy Z Fold4 consists of several layers It’s made up of layers, and they’re all exposed during teardown, at the cost of the display never working again — because it can be folded in one direction, but it definitely doesn’t like being folded any other way. There’s also a new metal plate below the display assembly, as well as a new cutout for the under-display camera.

The outer screen glass is embedded in the metal frame, it is very difficult to disassemble without damaging it, after unscrewing dozens of screws, once the screen disappears, all the internal components can be accessed. The battery is held in place using a lot of adhesive, and there are no pull tabs, which makes removing and replacing the battery more of a hassle than it needs to be.
