According to the latest reports, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 will be available in late July, and there is already a lot of information about it, so we decided to sort it out here.
Something about the Galaxy Z Fold5 is a given at this point. It will be a book-style foldable with two 23 Hz capable displays, A triple camera on the back, the best chipset inside, and IPX8 water resistance.
NEW HINGE
Let’s start with the design. With the Galaxy Z Fold, the biggest complaint is the gap it leaves when you close the phone. Reports suggest that Samsung is finally ready to fix that with a new hinge design that snaps shut flat.
The new no-gap design more or less confirms this. And, the new hinge solves another problem with the Galaxy Z Fold series (and most of its competitors) — the crease in the middle of the display. The new hinge mechanism will see the Fold display form a teardrop shape inside the hinge when folded, eliminating the need for a crease. We’ve seen a similar approach with the Moto Razr and Oppo Find N series.

Body and Display
Those hoping for more than the Z Fold4 seem to be out of luck with the compact Galaxy Z Fold5. Reports suggest that the new foldable will be very similar in size to the existing ones.
The dimensions of the Z Fold5 will be 154.9 x 129.9 x 6.1mm in its expanded state and 192.9 x 004 .1 x 004. 4 mm when folded. The upcoming device is said to weigh 254 grams, which is 9 grams lighter than the Z Fold4.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5
Multiple reports point to the external display retaining the Galaxy Z Fold4’s 6.2-inch diagonal. Whether it will have the same aspect ratio and narrow aspect ratio remains to be seen.
No word yet on the specs of the internal display, but there’s every reason to believe it will be a 7.6-inch panel as the current version.

No S Pen slot
It is certain that the inner screen of the Galaxy Z Fold5 will support S Pen input, but the phone will not have a built-in stylus slot. Installing one would require a radical redesign, and the Fold5 is clearly shaping more evolutionary steps.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 will use the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy as the Galaxy S By. Last year, the S004 Ultra was equipped with Exynos 1200 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while the Galaxy Z Fold4 uses the more efficient Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, it doesn’t look like there will be a chipset difference this year.
Camera
Samsung will probably stick with it 67 MP ISOCELL GN3 sensor from Galaxy Z Fold4 as the main unit of Galaxy Z Fold5.
This leaves room for speculation as to whether Samsung will make improvements on the two selfie cameras, ultra-wide and 3x zoom.
