Not only is Samsung’s Bixby still around, but it’s getting new features. That might sound shocking if you thought the South Korean company’s assistant software was abandoned, or at least no longer actively developed.
Bixby, it turns out, is still alive and well. Now available for kids! This exciting development is made possible by a new update that is currently rolling out. Once installed, Assistant will gain the ability to use child accounts (for 13).
Children can ask Bixby questions, listen to stories, play music and play games. Bixby will respond to kids with age-appropriate and kid-friendly content.
For this to work, you need to create a group for your family with your Samsung account. You can then set up child accounts that they can use on Samsung devices, and once you do, they can take advantage of Bixby.
Unfortunately, Bixby for kids is currently only supported in the US and South Korea, more countries will be added in the future.
