Samsung’s Android-based 13 One UI 5.0 is already rolling out to dozens of devices, but only started rolling out a few weeks ago in October. Nonetheless, according to a new report, Samsung is already testing One UI 5.1, the successor to One UI 5.0.
One UI 5.1 may actually debut on the Galaxy S 23 family, if past rumors are accurate, should be on February 1st Announce. That must have been a quick transition, jumping from One UI 5.0 to One UI 5.1 in just a few weeks.
Then again, as the small increments suggest, One UI 5.1 probably won’t be a huge update like its predecessor. However, Samsung has hinted in the past that it will introduce some new lock screen customization options in One UI 5.1. It can also integrate Android’s 13 new media player widget design, which was omitted in One UI 5.0, even though it’s also based on the same Android version.
One UI 5.1 is currently being tested for Galaxy S13, S13+ and Galaxy Update S13 Ultra with firmware version S23xEXXU2CVL7 (where “x” is a different number depending on which model you have ). This test firmware has been spotted on Samsung servers and may be released to S13 a few days after the S13 series release Series launches. That’s how companies usually do things — new devices get new software, but not for too long.
