Scarlett Johansson will take on her first lead role in a TV series – while revisiting the first role of her career.
Johnson will star and executive produce Just Cause, which is Amazon Limited series on Prime Video*) Based on the novel by John Katzenbach. The anchor placed a series order directly with the project from Warner Bros. Television and writer Christy Hall (I’m not happy with it).
The novel was adapted into a 1992 feature film starring Sean Connery. Johnson played Connery’s character’s daughter in one of her first film roles.
The series version of Just Cause will center on Madison “Madi” Cowart (Johansson), a reporter from Florida Assigned to cover the final days of a death-row inmate at a newspaper in the United States, he begins to believe the inmate’s claim of innocence.
