Seagull Shirahama's Witch Hat Atelier Manga Circulation Exceeds 4.5 Million Copies



Comic creator Shirahama Seagull announced on Twitter on Sunday that her manga has surpassed 4.5 million worldwide circulation copies (including digital editions). The story of the manga revolves around Koko, a girl living in a small village who has always dreamed of becoming a Wizard. But being born without a talent for magic means she can never become a wizard, much less hope to witness the spark of magic. She gave up her dream. But one day, a traveling wizard named Kifli came to her village, and she happened to see him casting magic. Shirahama at Kodansha of Magazine July 2018 . The anime adaptation of the manga was announced in April. The series was nominated for the Best Comic Award at the Angoulême International Comic Con in January 2019. The manga was also nominated for the Manga Taisho Award . The series ranked #1 on the Best Manga List for Male Readers Kono Manga of Takarajimasha ga Sugoi! (This manga is awesome!) Guide. The comic was ranked 2018 at the top of the American Library Association’s (ALA) Youth Library Services Association’s (YALSA) Top 10 Graphic Novels for Teens. The series won Best Comic 2020 at the Harvey Awards in October.
